Hungarian of 38 years olds this alway' s  kind   athlete... Zolt Tamas is our second portrait  of IUTA  ultratriathlete.
Zolt ( Tamas for all of his friends ) live in  Bonyhàd near Pecs  in  the south of Hungary with his wife and 3 childs of 15, 11 and 3 years olds.

Zolt start to practice triathlon in 1991 and tasted  ultra triathlon thirdteen years later in 2004.
He had a good background of  sport when   he started athletic in the beginning of 80s and also he like to  play basketball.
This culinar adept of mexican food and orange juice  listen most of the time soul and reggea music.
He also like to read books about sports and ...zoology !
His two favorite movie his “Starwar” and like a lot of triathlete and runner, “ Forrest Gump” an   inescapable movie !
 

His career now: This year was his most successful year of competition with the first place in the World Cup Series and  already after his 10X10 Iron-Triathlon in Mexico he was receive with large pump when he was coming back in his country. It was absolutely a splendid moment in  his career of athlete.
This altruism athlet  did a symbolic gest  with lot of emotion  in the last Double Ironman World Championship in Austria  when he gave his finish trophee to the daughter of Otto Klauninger who died  tragically in october 2006.
During a few second the silence was  omnipresent and everybody was in communion with Zolt. A great moment of  sport...made by a great athlete!
When we ask Zolt why he do that kind of  sport he have a simple respond for us : “ i do ultra triathlon for the feelings that it give to me... the  emotions, the limit i have to reach ...the success... for friendship naturally and  psychic force.
His best souvenir; the double Ironman in Lithuania with the big crew and incredible atmosphere  and he want to make again this kind of race in his country...he' s trying to organise a Double Ironman in his city Bonyhàd this year next  august...
Zolt like a lot of athlet have an idol in our sport...the only and unique Guy ROSSI from France.
This year he expect to go in Canada for the World Championship of Double Ironman  and also in Mexico next  november for the Decatriathlon World Challenge.
Zolt from the big  family of ultra triathlet all over the world we like to congratulate you for  you' re first place in 2007 and wish you all the luck for you' re next race and all project and goal.

Guy ROSSI

“The LEGEND”

Who does not know Guy ROSSI ?                                                                                    
He is the oldest ultra triathletes with 20 years of presence on the circuit ultra triathlon. Born in 1948, Guy always practised the sport. In 1968, he has even the privilege to be carrier of the Olympic flame.

It is in 1972 that his life takes a new bend when he take for wife Annie who is going to give him 3 children. Magali, Jean-Roch (who ventured on the enjoyments of the double( in Ecuador during the first edition) and Fanny young last one. Those who know well Guy know well how much he is attached to his family. We often see Annie in her quoted on the competitions to bring him her support and the comfort necessary for this type of competitions.

Guy participated in all the competitions of ultra triathlon existing on the planete. It won) the World cup 1993 / 97 and 99 and gained in 98 the World Championship of the  déca (38 km swimming / 1800 km cycle / 423 km chases). With more than 17 podium is a part of the most titled athletes in IUTA Circuit.

Guy is always very Zen, to believe that he practises the religion Boudhiste. His slogan ?: " it is the life, and she is beautiful! "

I have never seen Guy to be angry. He knows always how to take the things of the highly-rated check by smiling. In the suffering, in the difficulty,  you will always see Guy with a big smile. A delight for the spectators.

Guy always brought his support and his knowledge for all the athletes who needed it. Even if he knew backhands of medals from little scrupulous athletes, he continues to bring to with pleasure his experience  to the young people arriving on the discipline.

This year, The I.U.T.A. in wished to reward Guy for his years of presence, his investment for the discipline and his results) throughout these 20 years, and that is why we decided to offer him, exceptionally, a VIP license free and valid  to life, as well as the medal of honour of the I.U.T.A. that he will soon receive.

I wish with all my heart than “ the LEGEND” can continue for a long time to dazzle us and to keep this state spirit which makes of him what he is and for whom we appreciate him so much.
